THE MINES OF CORNWALL AND DEVON
Statistics and Observations
by
Thomas Spargo
This book published in 1865 is a must for anyone who has an interest
in the counties of Cornwall and Devon. It goes into great detail
regarding the history and statistics of hundreds of mines, from the
name of the manager, landowner, depth of the adit, when first opened
and many other pieces of useful information.
Although the title page states that there are Maps, Plans and Sections,
these were either removed before digitization or never included in the
book. However, despite this it still remains one of the most complete
listings of mines and of great use to scholars of this subject, or for
anyone looking to add detail to their family history.
