A NEW ENCYCLOPAEDIA OF FREEMASONRY
Volumes 1 and 2
(Ref 033)
by A. E. WAITE
The Freemason have always been surrounded by mystery and
intrigue. Their reputation as a “secret society” has added to this and
speculations as to their powers and ability to manipulate people and
even governments have run rife. This publication is the result of much
work and research carried out by the author. Published in the early
part of the 20 th century (circa 1923) this books contains almost a
thousand pages, in two volumes, of information relating to this ancient
Order covering such aspects as it's ceremonies and rites, a
chronology of the Masons, the Illuminati and hundreds of other topics.
It is in alphabetical order and the CD is also fully searchable If you
have an ancestor who was a Freemason, an interest in the history of
the Freemasons, you are a member of the Freemasons or your
curiosity has been awakened by such books as the De Vinci Code
and Angels and Demons, then you need this publication.

PERSECUTION EXPOSED IN SOME MEMOIRS
RELATING TO THE SUFFERINGS OF JOHN
WHITING AND MANY OTHERS OF THE PEOPLE
CALLED QUAKERS
(Ref 022)
John Whiting was a Quaker from Wrington who was
imprisoned in Ilchester Gaol for preaching in the 1680s. He
wrote a book entitled "Persecution Expos'd" (published in
1715 describing this experience. This book is a second
edition of that publication and includes “With Memoirs of
many eminent Friends deceased, and other memorable
Matters and Occurrences, concerning the Sufferings of the
said People; and remarkable Providences attending him and
them, during his long Imprisonment at Ivelchester, till the
general Release, in 1686; and continued down to the year
1696.” For anyone who has an interest in the Quakers or
has an ancestor who followed this religion this book is an
invaluable asset with a large number of names.
Whilst this book is searchable, it has to be remembered that
it was written in “Old English” with the different spellings and
letters. Therefore the index should also be used.
